Pembroke - Kiwanis International

In order to carry out the numerous projects that Kiwanis is involved with throughout the year members are encouraged to be members of committees that they can bring thier time and talents to.

Aktion Club	Pilot, Bob Montgomery, Malcolm	Service Level Program Club for adults with disabilities. Meets monthly on the second Tuesday at Giant Tiger's Community Room at 11:30 .
Board of Directors	Gervais, Ron	The Board consisting of the President, VP, Treasurer, Past President Directors is elected each year in accordance with the By-Laws of the Club. The Board meets monthly and provides overall direction and oversight of the Club activities.
Boardwalk Gaming Team	Metzger, Dave Jr	Kiwanians and friends that have volunteered to be hosts at Boardwalk Gaming, a fund raising project of the Club. Our Club has two assigned sessions per month with two volunteers at each session
Boys and Girls Programs Committee	Brazeau, Raymond	Oversight of youth programs supported by the Club which included the Pembroke Boys and Girls Club as well as contributions to other groups.
Builders Club	Leigh, Peter	The Builders is a Kiwanis Service Level Club. The Club sponsors a Club at Highview Public School. The Committee liaisons with the staff coordinator at Highview to provide support from our Club.
Bulletin	Turner, Rhodina	Prepares and issues weekly Club bulletin
Bursaries	Fisher, Larry Turner, Rhodina Ryan, Dennis	The Kiwanis Club provides bursaries for students in the local high schools and Algonquin College. The Bursary Committee works with the schools to identify deserving students and arrange the presentation.
Charter Night	Metzger, Dave Jr	The Immediate Past President and the other past presidents are responsible for the organizing the annual Charter Night that celebrates the creation of the Club in Pembroke in April 1922.
Christmas Caroling	McLaren, Jay	Annual caroling at local senior residences
Christmas Hampers	Walker, Kath	The Club has had a long relationship supporting the Salvation Army projects that help the needy in the Community. Kiwanis volunteers are coordinated to deliver Christmas Hampers that are prepared by the Salvation Army. (A one day annual project)
Circle K	McLaren, Jay	A service level program of Kiwanis for college students at Algonquin College, Pembroke Campus.
Club Awards	McLaughlin, Bob	Manage the Awards (both Club and international), identify potential recipients and make recommendations.
Club House Management	Fisher, Larry Pilot, Bob Steinke, Roger	Administration and rental of Kiwanis Field House
Club Meeting Program	McLaren, Jay
Club Music	McLaughlin, Bob	Coordinate the music for the Club meeting each week.
Fellowship/Sizzle	Metzger, Dave Jr	Social Committee initiates and arranges for social events for fun and fellowship of members and guests. This has included such things as Christmas Part, Valentines Dinner and Canada Day BBQ
Haunted House		Help Coordinate the annual Halloween Haunted House provided by Kiwanian Brian Hugli
Health of the Club	Fisher, Larry	Report on the members who are ill and arrange for cards, flowers etc on behalf of the Club
House and Reception		Set up and looking after arrangements for weekly meeting
Hydrotherapy	McLaughlin, Bob
Interclub	Pilot, Bob	Promotes and looks after the logistics of attending Interclubs with neighboring Clubs

Music Festival	Vijay, Vijay Fee, Doug	Annual Pembroke Kiwanis Music Festival started in 1949. The Kiwanis Festival runs for three weeks in February and March at Festival Hall in Pembroke with performances in piano, voice, strings, instrumental, and dance. A wrap up Festival of the Star Concert is held in March to show case the highest scoring performers and for awarding the trophies and metals. As well as the Kiwanians on the Committee, Su Fisher is the Secretary of the Committee, Sue Seto is the Treasurer and Paula Lundrigan is a member.
Nevada	Gervais, Ron	Coordinate Club's Nevada Sites at Petawawa
Newsletter and Internet		Produce three newsletters (spring, fall and winter) to be distributed to members and the community at large to highlight our club projects and the work of Kiwanis. Maintain Portalbuzz site and Club's various internet sites

Ottawa River Double Cross	McLaughlin, Bob
Publicity and Marketing	McLaren, Jay
Snowsuit Project	Buske, Jeff	Manage the Club Snowsuit Project through the seeking applicants, procurement of snow suits.
Special Fundraising and New Projects	McLaren, Jay	Formed with the mandate of reviewing potential fundraising activities and providing recommendation to the Board for fund raising activities the Club should proceed with on an annual basis
Support Association	Fisher, Larry Schull, Lewis
Tree Farm	McLaren, Jay Hugli, Brian	Our Club owns a 100 Ac tree farm that grows red and white pine. It provides a location for use by the Forestry Program of Algonquin College and from time to time provides some revenue for the Club when trees are harvested.
Variety Night Fundraiser		An annual dinner and entertainment evening for socializing and raising funds for our projects.
