Our Fundraising

As a service club we carry our numerous projects locally and worldwide. To accomplish this the Club carries out on going fund raising activities for these projects. It should be noted that Kiwanis uses 100% of funds raised for its charitable projects. The costs for local administration and support of our International Headquarters organization is paid for by our members due's.

Current fundraising projects are:

Sunset Nursery/Karisma Fashion Show

The Club teams up with Karisma Fashion to have a evening to check out the new fashions and get some great prices at the greenhouse at Sunset Nursery. 

 

Cross River Swim

Kiwanian Bob McLaughlin orgainizes an annual swim in August accross the Ottawa River. Swimmers are sponsored for the 4 km (double cross) or 2 Km swim.  

Fiddle Weekend Pancake Breakfast

The Fiddle and Step Dancing Festival on the Labour Day weekend brings over a thousand visitors to Riverside Park. Our Club serves breakfast at the Field House Saturday and Sunday mornings.

 

Turtle Race

Turtles races are slow but sure. June is the time for turtle races on the Muskrat River. Buy ticket on a turtle and come and cheer it on. Fun for all and money raised helps our kids projects

Comedy Dinner and Show

at Hugli Blue Berry Ranch

Kiwanian Brian and Judy Hugli host a great evening of food, fellowship and lots of laughs. 

Haunted House

Our Kiwanian Brian Hugli owner of the Hugli Blue Berry Ranch provides a venue of a Haunted House that is staffed by Kiwanians and volunteer students for a scary visit during the Halloween season. Many thanks to Brian and his staff for making this project happen.
